At the annual Texas Outdoor Writer’s Association conference in Rockport, TX, the Gulf Great White Sharks website was honored with an “Excellence in Craft” award for “Best Outdoors Website”.
The award recognized the site’s dedication to informative, engaging content that highlights the presence and importance of great white sharks in Gulf waters.

Founded in 2024 by wildlife journalist and conservationist Chester Moore, the website has steadily grown in popularity with hundreds of subscribers and tens of thousands of visitors.
“It was an honor to win this award since our goal is to raise awareness of great white shark conservation in the Gulf and beyond,” Moore said.
“To be recognized by my peers—especially among such tough competition—is incredibly meaningful. Thanks to TOWA and everyone who subscribes to our blog here and visits our website. I am grateful.”
