As the founder and chief editor of Gulf Great White Sharks, I found myself reflecting on the incredible journey we embarked upon in 2024. It was our inaugural year, a year filled with growth, support from shark lovers, and a deepening appreciation for the magnificent creatures we dedicated ourselves to understanding and protecting—the Great White sharks of the Gulf.

I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support from our readers, fellow shark lovers and conservationists who shared our passion for these apex predators. Their enthusiasm fueled our commitment to providing in-depth information, captivating stories, and groundbreaking research on Great Whites in the Gulf.

This is me getting ready to release a blacktip shark I caught near Venice, La in 2012.

Looking ahead to 2025, I am filled with excitement for what the future holds. We will continue our mission with renewed vigor, delving even deeper into the world of Great White sharks. Our team is already hard at work, preparing to unveil exclusive content, interviews with experts, and cutting-edge discoveries that will captivate and inspire our audience.

But perhaps the most thrilling endeavor on the horizon is our plan to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Jaws” and on a personal level for me the 20th anniversary of my own journey investigating Great White sharks in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Jaws” in my opinion despite causing problems for sharks iniitally is probably as responsible as anything for promoting shark conservation and certainly knowledge of sharks.

Yes, it was not very realistic in terms of shark behavior but it made a huge impact on many. And we will celebrate with a very special media project involving great whites in the Gulf of Mexico.

As we bid farewell to 2024 and usher in the new year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who has supported Gulf Great White Sharks. Your passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of these incredible creatures have made our journey possible. Together, we have accomplished so much, but our work is far from over.

So here’s to a happy, healthy, and blessed new year. May it be filled with continued growth, exploration, and advocacy on behalf of the Gulf Great White sharks. With your support, I have no doubt that we will make even greater strides in the years to come. Thank you shark lovers, and here’s to the adventure that lies ahead.
