I’m excited to announce that Gulf Great White Sharks: Return of an Icon, the documentary I created with filmmaker Paul Fuzinski, has been officially selected for the Orange Film and Arts Festival in Orange, Texas.
This is another exciting milestone for a project that has helped us spread the word about great white sharks in the Gulf and the importance of their conservation.
I served as producer, writer and narrator on the documentary, working with Paul to bring this fascinating subject to life.

Earlier this year, the film received Best Outdoors Video honors from the Texas Outdoor Writers Association and won Best Documentary from the Press Club of Southeast Texas.
Having the documentary selected for a film festival right here in Southeast Texas makes this latest recognition particularly special.
One of the primary reasons we created the Gulf Great White Shark Society was to raise awareness of the fact that great white sharks inhabit Gulf waters and to encourage greater interest in these incredible animals.
When most people think of great whites, they picture places like South Africa, California or Cape Cod. But these remarkable predators also roam the Gulf, and their presence is an important part of the region’s natural history.

The documentary has given us another way to tell that story and reach audiences beyond traditional wildlife and fishing circles.
I’m grateful to Paul for his outstanding film making work and to everyone who has supported the documentary and the Gulf Great White Shark Society.
It’s exciting to see this project continue reaching new audiences, and I hope it inspires more people to appreciate the Gulf’s ultimate apex predator: the great white shark.
