Large great white sharks eat big prey items such as seals, tuna and other sharks.
While talking with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy Senior Scientist Megan Winton, we learned a fun story about a great white shark that spent a surprising amount of time chasing a small flounder.
This great white shark was fitted with an AWSC camera tag.
It’s amazing how much we’re learning from tagging technology and this is a fun example that shows great white sharks have many behavior attributes we are just now beginning to understand.

Expanding Coverage
We are expanding our coverage of great whites in the Gulf of Mexico. If you have any reports, photos or videos please send to chester@chestermoore.com. We are also looking for historical documents such old books, newspaper clippings etc referencing great whites in the Gulf of Mexico.
You have an opportunity to help raise awareness of these great creatures by contributing to this blog.
Youth Conservation Challenge
Our sister page Higher Calling Wildlife is doing a conservation challenge for youth.
Take a photo of an animal that you have a passion for and study it’s conservation needs. This would include issues with its populations, habitat needs, etc. You can also post something positive about how a species has comeback from low population numbers, etc. Put #hashtags in the post that are proper for the species and the mission of conservation so you can reach more people.
Have your kids visit this page to watch a video on the project and get more details.
Then post that photo on Instagram with information about the species and some of it conservation needs.
Tag me @thechestermoore on Instagram and I will share it in my story.
